Whenever some luminary appears on earth with a message to humanity, a group of evolved souls accompany him to help him in his mission. We find, among the disciples of Sri Ramakrishna, both men and women, young and old, educated and unlettered. Some of these became monks, others remained lay devotees. Both the groups of disciples exemplified the ideals that Sri Ramakrishna lived and taught. A study of these lives is an ennobling experience. It also helps us understand better the phenomenon called Sri Ramakrishna.
